SSPH+ Events

SSPH+ supports events led or co-led by SSPH+ (see list below). Since 2017, the Swiss Public Health Conference has been organised by The Swiss Society for Public Health and the Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH+). Each year, a Swiss academic institution assumes the role of host and takes the scientific-thematic lead.

SSPH+ does not act as a funder of other events or conferences. All SSPH+ event guests, attendees, and exhibitors are subject to the SSPH+ Anti-harassment Policy and Code of Conduct. SSPH+ reserves the right to take any and all appropriate actions to enforce the Anti-harassment Policy and Code of Conduct, up to and including ejecting from the event individuals who fail to comply with the policy.

SSPH+ Annual Meeting 2026

June 23-24, 2026 | University of Fribourg

"Protecting Science – Protecting Health" is the motto of the 2026 SSPH+ Annual Meeting, hosted by the University of Fribourg on June 23-24, 2026. This theme highlights the essential role of scientific integrity, collaboration, and transparency in safeguarding both public trust and population health. It invites us to reflect on how protecting the foundations of science ultimately protects the well-being of societies.

Registration Now Open | SSPH+ Lugano Summer School 2026

August 17-22, 2026 | Lugano

The registration is now open for the 35th SSPH+ Lugano Summer School in Public Health Policy, Economics, and Management (LSS 2026)! The LSS 2026 will take place in Lugano and online from 17 to 22 August 2026, featuring: 12 highly interactive courses, 2 plenaries, and several networking events. Each course uses an active and engaged teaching style to help participants reflect on, develop, and expand transformational ideas.

Early bird registration is available until 1 May 2026. Fees vary by participation mode and participant category, with discounts available for:

Master and PhD students (including medical residents) from non-partner institutions
Participants from Upper-Middle Income Countries (UMICs)
Participants from Low- & Lower-Middle Income Countries (LMICs)
Students and staff of LSS partner institutions (USI, SUPSI, Swiss TPH, SSPH+, including SSPH+ IGC PhD students)

38th Residential 3-week Summer Course in Epidemiology

June 15– July 3, 2026 | Florence, Italy

The course is intended for epidemiologists, statisticians, clinicians and public health practitioners with an interest in epidemiology. During the first two weeks, the course offers five general modules on epidemiological study design and statistical analysis of epidemiological data. In the third week, seven special modules on topics of current relevance for health and advanced methodological issues are offered. The course is taught in English. See more info here.

Lugano Summer School in Public Health 2025

The SSPH+ Summer School on Public Health Policy, Economics, and Management in Lugano has successfully concluded! From 18-23 August 2025, 226 participants from 65 countries joined 13 courses, attended 2 plenary sessions, enjoyed 2 evening social events, and took part in a seminar with SolidarMed. A big thank you to all participants, instructors, and partners who made the SSPH+ Summer School 2025 in Lugano such a memorable experience! We look forward to seeing you at future SSPH+ events!

SSPH+ Annual Meeting 2025

Our SSPH+ Annual Meeting 2025 was hosted by the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) from 4–5 June 2025. More than 170 participants gathered to exchange knowledge, network, and engage in inspiring plenary and parallel sessions covering topics from youth well-being and sustainable health workforce development to the future of public health publishing.
