The Geneva Health Forum (GHF) is a biennial international conference held in Geneva, Switzerland. It serves as a prominent platform for global health professionals, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to discuss critical global health issues, share innovations, and exchange ideas. The GHF is organized by the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva, in collaboration with other international partners including SSPH+.
The GHF 2024 took place from May 27 to 29, 2024. The conference focused on the theme "Health, a Common Good!" and explored topics such as Health and Environment, Migration, Health and Equity, and the elimination of Malaria. SSPH+ plays an especially important role at the GHF by actively contributing to key thematic discussions and showcasing its programs in the exhibition space. Several SSPH+ board and faculty members shared their expertise through impactful presentations.
On Day 1, Nino Kuenzli, formerly of Swiss TPH, addressed the health impacts of pollution during the opening session on Health and Environment.
Day 2 highlighted insights from Yves Jackson on improving migrant health, as well as contributions from Isabelle Bolon and Rafael Ruiz de Castaneda on operationalizing One Health and Planetary Health in humanitarian settings.
On Day 3, Manuel Hetzel and Antoine Flahault provided updates on malaria elimination, complemented by Valérie Pittet’s exploration of AI-driven global health solutions.
SSPH+ awarded the "Jet d'Or Doctoral Prize," a prestigious CHF 1,000 award, to the winner of the 'Science SpeedTalks' during the conference's closing ceremony.
