Frontiers Planet Prize 2025

SSPH+ proudly announced that papers authored by SSPH+ Faculty members were selected for further consideration for the prestigious Frontiers Planet Prize 2025, highlighting the impact of their work in public health and sustainability. Prof. Jakob Zinsstag (Swiss TPH) and colleagues were recognized for their paper One Health in human–environment systems: Linking health and the sustainable use of natural resources, while Prof. Nicolas Ray (University of Geneva) and colleagues were acknowledged for Estimating the Carbon Footprint of Healthcare in the Canton of Geneva and Reduction Scenarios for 2030 and 2040. Both articles were submitted to the Planet Prize Grand Jury, which was tasked with selecting one National Champion per participating country and awarding three international prizes. National Champions were announced on Earth Day, April 22, 2025, followed by the announcement of International Champions at the Award Ceremony in June 2025. See the full time-line here.
