Smarter Health Care

The Smarter Health Care network - bringing together members from the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN), OBSAN, and others - focuses on building a strong foundation for advancing health services research and knowledge transfer. As a continuation of the National Research Program NRP-74 and the Swiss Learning Health System (SLHS),  key steps to develop a platform that connects researchers, policy-makers, and practitioners in the future were taken. Notably, in December, 2025, the association Smarter Health Care was founded as a component of SSPH+. It connects researchers, politicians, and practitioners. Specifically, Smarter Health Care simplifies access to current research, promotes exchange between stakeholders, and offers opportunities for joint learning. The goal for 2026 and onwards is to become THE platform for health services and systems research in Switzerland. As part of the Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH+), Smarter Health Care is committed to fostering an evidence-based approach to health care improvement in Switzerland.
